How to properly care for your jewelry pieces

Each piece I create is made with care and intention to last, but proper care will help preserve its beauty for years to come. Because handmade jewelry is a form of art, it deserves to be treated gently and reverently. Think of it as something sacred.

Please avoid wearing your jewelry during activities that involve water or strain—such as swimming, showering, exercising, or applying lotions and hand sanitizer. Chemicals commonly found in perfumes, sprays, and cosmetics can harm gemstones and alter the patina, leading to spots or tarnish.

Sterling silver naturally reacts to air and moisture, so when not being worn, keep your piece in a dry place—ideally in the velvet pouch included with your order or any airtight bag. Anti-tarnish storage options are also widely available online or at most jewelry shops.

If your piece begins to tarnish, gently restore its shine with a soft polishing cloth (Sunshine cloths are my favorite). Please avoid using liquid polish or chemical dips, as these can damage natural stones and compromise the finish. Also, take care not to rub away any darkened or oxidized areas that are part of the design’s intentional detailing.
